Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

To use OneWander, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
• Provide accurate account information
• Not be prohibited from using our services under applicable law

2. Your Account

• Registration: You must create an account using email, phone number, or social login (Google/Apple).
• Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Don't share your login credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
• Accuracy: Keep your account information current and accurate.
• One Account: You may only maintain one personal account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the app for illegal purposes
• Spam or send unsolicited messages
• Scrape or collect user data without permission
• Attempt to hack or disrupt our services
• Create events for illegal activities
• Discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics
• Share explicit, violent, or harmful content
• Use automated systems or bots

4. Content & Conduct

• Your Content: You retain ownership of content you post (profile info, hangouts, messages). By posting, you grant us a license to display and distribute your content within the app.
• Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your content and interactions with other users.
• Moderation: We may review, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.
• Reporting: Use the in-app reporting features to flag inappropriate content or behavior.

5. Events & Hangouts

Hosting:

When you create a hangout, you are responsible for:

• Providing accurate event details
• Managing attendance and invitations
• Ensuring the event is legal and safe
• Communicating cancellations or changes promptly

Attending:

When you RSVP to events:

• Honor your commitments when possible
• Follow host guidelines
• Treat other attendees with respect

No Guarantee: We don't guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any event. Meet in public places and use your judgment.

Cancellations: Hosts may cancel events at any time. We are not responsible for any costs or inconvenience caused by cancellations.

6. Intellectual Property

• Our Property: OneWander, our logo, design system, and app content are our intellectual property. Don't copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.
• Feedback: If you provide suggestions or feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Third-Party Services

OneWander integrates with third-party services (Google, Apple, payment processors). Your use of those services is governed by their terms and policies.

We may link to external websites or services. We're not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimers

AS-IS: OneWander is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

No Guarantee:

We don't guarantee:

• The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Events will be safe, legal, or as described
• Other users are who they claim to be
• Any specific results from using the app

User Interactions: We are not responsible for the actions, content, or conduct of other users. Use caution when meeting people in person.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you haven't paid anything)
• We are not liable for events, user conduct, or third-party actions

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of OneWander
• Your content
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Termination

By You: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

By Us:

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

• Violating these Terms
• Illegal activity
• Harmful behavior toward other users
• Extended inactivity (with notice)

Effect: Upon termination, your license to use the app ends. We may retain certain data as required by law.

13. Disputes

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
• Informal Resolution: Before filing a claim, contact us at onewanderapp@gmail.com to attempt resolution.
• Arbitration: Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than court, except for small claims court. You waive the right to participate in class actions.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. General

• Entire Agreement: These Terms (with our Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us.
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce a right doesn't waive it.
• Assignment: We may assign these Terms; you may not.
